According to the Kauffman Foundation, the percentage of new entrepreneurs who were ages 55 to 64 grew from 14.8% in 1996 to 25.8% in 2018. With the post pandemic, women have realized the opportunity exists to control their schedule by becoming their own boss. For many 50+ women, entrepreneurship training is the toolkit that empowers them to use their experience, knowledge, and skills to become job creators. In addition, entrepreneurship training focuses on helping experienced professionals leverage their career knowledge for a new business. The “Encore Entrepreneur” workshop is an opportunity for SBA and the WBECEast to introduce existing and future entrepreneurs to resources available to help them in starting and growing a business.

Jumpstart your entrepreneurial dream by starting a home-based business that creates, delivers, or improves on a product or service. In this introductory and interactive course, we will discuss: • Generating the idea • Applying the rules • Creating the plan • Evaluating the financing • Accessing mentoring and training resources The U.S. Small Business Administration makes the American dream of business ownership a reality.
